EASTDALE RUGBY AND FOOTBALL TEAM REVIEW

Rack's Corner:

Eastdale Rugby Team: Provincial Champions.

Wow, there's so much to talk about, I don't know where to start. Well, I guess I'll try to make this quick.
Let's start with the regular season. We didn't even have a rocky start. The team did sorta what the trudeau bball team wanted to do and went 4-0 (no offense guys). The teams we played were Uxbridge, Brock, Dwyer, and of course, PORT PERRY, Eastdale's rivals. we beat them 15-14. Sounds close, but we dominated in their end.
Now for the Durham region playoffs, otherwise known as LOSSA. They were held at Eastdale. In the quarter finals we played Uxbridge. Now, in the playoffs, every team was ready, they all improved big time, so Uxbridge was a lot better than before. But hey, Eastdale improved too, and we beat 'em 17-10. Now, in the semi-finals, we were up against Port Perry. In a tournament, we beat them 12-0, in the season, we beat them 15-14. But they stepped up that game and beat us 7-5. Port Perry went on to win LOSSA.
The loss majorly upsetted Eastdale, but we wanted revenge, so we planned to get it at the Barbarian Provincial Cup. It was held pretty much in the middle of no where. The first game was against a team called Bear Creek. They were so slaughtered, I lost count of all our tries. Anyway, the next team we played was called Salt Fleet. They were better than Bear Creek, but we still clearly beat them 7-3. Then came the quarter finals against a team that was orange and blue and had a name that I can't remember. Eastdale had a rocky start, letting them score a try in the beginning. But we got it together and beat them 14-5. Then came the semies against Waterloo. Man that was a tough team. they were winning by a kick until the last five minutes, when we scored a try thanks to our inside centre, winning it 5-3.
All of a sudden, we were in the Barbarian finals. And who better to play than our rivals, Port Perry. Man, that game is undescribable. The score was 0-0 until the last minute, when we scored a kick. That game was the toughest and best game we've played.
I know that winning provincials was one of the best things that's happened to me. Words of advice to all: Play Rugby.

CCB NEWS: MROZ TURNS DOWN CAPTAINCY!

After some interviews with CCB Centre Martin Mroz, it was revealed he has no intentions of playing in the Junior CCB as the 2004 Jr. Scorpions captain, as he wants to play with KL and other Scorpions in the Senior League.

Mroz last season earned the M.V.A award and was amongst league leaders in almost every category, which helped him finish third in staitistical voting for MVP.
